My t-shirt design is based on Haitian Vodou. In Haitian Vodou, the veve is a sacred symbol used to call upon the Lwa (spirits) during rituals and ceremonies. Each Lwa has a specific veve associated with it, made up of unique shapes, patterns, and symbols.These designs are spiritual doorways, allowing the Lwa to enter the ritual space. The colors, symbols, and patterns chosen for a veve. hold deep meaning related to the characteristics of the Lwa. I chose Papa Legba, he opens the way for communication between humans and spirits.
